Re-Steel Doubles Down on Preventative Mental Health, Renews Spirence Partnership Through 2028

Preventative mental health in the workplace is increasingly critical, and Re-Steel moved early to address it. In 2024, the company onboarded Spirence ahead of its open enrollment period, positioning preventative mental health as a core part of its benefits strategy from day one.

“We made the decision to bring Spirence on ahead of Open Enrollment because it was a simple way to expand how we support our employees without adding complexity,” said Michele Mullen, HR Director at Re-Steel. “The implementation was straightforward, didn’t require much lift from our team, and gave our workforce access to tools they can actually use in their day-to-day lives.”

Re-Steel integrated Spirence to its existing Wellness Hub and Employee Assistance Program (EAP), expanding its approach to employee well-being beyond traditional, reactive models of care. The platform equips employees with tools to manage stress, build resilience, and stay well in their day-to-day lives.

“Preventative mental health only works if it’s easy. That’s been our philosophy from day one,” said Laura Kunz, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer at Spirence. “From onboarding to daily use, whether someone is building skills, accessing education, or seeking support, it should feel intuitive, accessible, and seamlessly integrated into everyday life. When it’s easy, people actually use it, and that’s where real impact begins.”

Since 1973, Re-Steel has been a trusted name in reinforcing steel and supplying structural materials to bridges, highways, housing, and other large structures. That commitment to building things that last now extends to its people through a proactive and sustained investment in their well-being.

About Spirence

Spirence is a preventative mental health platform designed for the 75% of today’s workforce who are underserved by traditional models of care. These individuals may not identify as “sick,” but they still need meaningful, accessible support to navigate everyday stress, build resilience, and stay well.

Spirence delivers a personalized, preventative mental health experience that meets employees in their daily moments, not just in times of crisis. The result is a proactive investment in people that helps employees feel supported, understood, and equipped before challenges escalate, transforming mental health from a reactive expense into an everyday foundation for performance and well-being.
